Compact Circularly Polarized Monopole Antenna Using Characteristic Mode Analysis

This study aims to design a circularly polarized compact antenna using characteristic mode analysis (CMA). The proposed consists of substrate with slotted annular ring-shaped patch and partial ground. excitation position the its optimal dimensions are determined through different operation modes CMA. After that, an optimized is designed, prototype fabricated for validation. experimental results show that reflection coefficient achieves -10dB impedance bandwidth 6.85 GHz, 3dB-axial ratio 0.7 peak gain 3.2 dBi. These characteristics agree simulations make suit C-band sub-6 GHz 5G wireless applications.
